Michael Micinilio The artist makes a 2D splash using nothing but chalk, …and 3D magic with something called “Sculpey.” By Jahmane. It was no surprise that my journey to track down Michael Micinilio led me to a familiar arts crossroad, the Read’s Artspace building in Bridgeport. Although much of his current artwork is creating a buzz in the wine and “BAR” scene in New Haven, the Bridgeport native has called the Read’s Building home for the past decade. Our histories intersect at the downtown Bridgeport artist’s colony during different periods, each of us finding refuge there at a time when his art career was catching its second wind; I as one of the catalysts in bringing the habitat to fruition, and he as one of the original inhabitants of the (now) landmark artists work/live space.
